Young girls have many issues I today’s society many of them being social, mental and with their health. Human Papillomavirus is one of the most common sources of sexually transmitted infections and with over 40 forms HPV the symptoms can sometimes be severe and deadly. Human papillomavirus may cause many issues like warts on the genitals and throat ad cervical cancer. Because HPV is dangerous many individuals have been trying encourage young women to take the vaccine in recent times the HPV vaccine have been given to younger girls, sometimes 12 and 13 years old. One issue with the HPV vaccine being mandatory for young girls is that tax payer dollars would have to cover the cost in a nation that is already in debt. There have been complications in these younger girls that have caused them to become infertile or sometimes inhabit mental disabilities. Young children should not be given the human papillomavirus because it causes many issues, the odds of complications happening may be slim but the risk heavily outweighs the positive aspects of the shot.

The HPV vaccine can cause many issues but the risk depends on the brand of vaccine a person uses. Cervarix is a vaccine that is used around the world and has side effects that may not be deadly but if used in young girls the side effects may be severe. If cervarix is used there is a chance that pain and swelling can occur after the initial shot. There is also a chance that patients can get a fever of 99.5, headaches and fatigue are also common. Other patients have experience nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain as well as muscle or joint pain. Gardasil is another HPV vaccine that causes issues in its patients. People who have taken Gardasil have reported puffiness and redness where the spot was given, mild to moderate fevers and severe headaches. More severe side effects of Gardasil are fainting spells or sometimes “seizure like” spells. There are more than a 2/3 chance of these things happening in patients who take these shots.

How do you feel about the HPV vaccine, is it work the risks to get it?

Back in June, I stumbled across an article about Gardasil and HPV in The Washington Times. The CDC recommends young women between the ages of nine to 26 years old get Gardasil to prevent HPV and cervical cancer. Merck, a major pharmaceutical corporation, is “benefitting tremendously from vaccine sales. The vaccine is expected to reach $1 billion in sales next year, and could reach more than $4 billion in sales in five years, according to Wall Street analysts.” Nonetheless, young women and pre-adolescent girls are dying and suffering severe side effects from this vaccine. Along with the side affects you have mentioned, seizures, paralysis, blindness, pancreatitis, speech problems, short term memory loss and Guillain-Barré Syndrome have affected several women/girls. As of September 2010, “26 deaths” were reported on previously healthy girls before they received the vaccine. Keep in mind, the Gardasil vaccine hasn’t proved to prevent cervical cancer and the HPV virus from infecting women. And now, Gardasil has to pay 6 million dollars to the victims of this “safe” vaccine.

Personally, I believe the vaccine serves as another vehicle to manipulate people to fund major pharmaceutical companies and corporations. They don’t care about humanity, it’s all about experiments and money. No one really knows the TRUE cause of cancer. My gynecologist encouraged me to get the vaccine in May. She also failed to give me a good reason to get it. Thank God for a liberal arts education because I probably would’ve been in the same boat with the 26 deceased young women and girls!

For years these corporations have used the media to exploit us and its fallacies only to explicate preventive measures. Some states mandate women to take this vaccine when it shouldn’t be. Why should girls as young as nine years old take this vaccine? Their bodies aren’t completely developed. This vaccine is slowly but surely killing young women and exacerbating their lifestyle.

I don’t think it’s worth the risk to take this vaccine. A lot of us (those who have taken the vaccine) have been used as guinea pigs. That’s right, science experiments. Yet while we succumb and suffer from severe side effects, Merck and the CDC are laughing all the way to the bank. $6 million is only the beginning for Gardasil. I believe there are more lawsuits to come.

I definitely agree with Amber. I believe that the “mild to severe” side effects of the vaccine are far too dangerous than not having the vaccine at all. These pharmaceutical companies found an opportunity to capitalize on an open market through statistics of the CDC. I don’t think they’re the least bit concerned of how the drug actually effects women as long as their profit is much larger than the risk.

What some doctors don’t even tell you is that they sometimes get PAID to solicit certain drugs in their office to their patients. There are these people, drug representatives, who work for major companies and go from office to office soliciting their drugs to the well known practitioners in hopes that they can get the product widely sold and some doctors give in. I believe because most women are more concerned with their health than men, OBGYN’s see a window of opportunity to hit us vulnerable women hard. I would like to think that most of us (women) want to be as healthy as possible and taking the preventative measures to achieve that is along that line of watching our health. So we trust our doctors heavily when they say that “this is the best prescription drug on the market” without even thinking that they can possibly be part-time sales men.

Did you know that over 80% of women up to the age of 30 have been infected in their lifetime and doctors predict 8 out of 10 women will contract a strand before they reach old age. What was most shocking to me is that there is no test for men. They are simply the carriers unknowingly. But did you know that only several of the 40 strands of HPV that can give you severe symptoms and many of the strands are healed with your own healthy immune system. I know it sounds like I’m suggesting that the virus isn’t meant to be taken seriously, but I am simply trying to say that I am more concerned with having seizures or an irreversible mental disability from the side effects than taking a risk of infertility from the virus. Again, I am not trying to encourage anyone to not have the vaccine, but I do believe that if we do, we’re harming ourselves much more than were helping ourselves.
